UFO Sighting Reported in Winder — Do You Believe?

The website UFO Stalker tracks reports of UFO sightings throughout the country and a recent post on the site involves a reported sighting in Winder.

A bright, orange ball with a pulsing light and no engine noise that disappeared suddenly.

A UFO?

A report posted on UFO Stalker, a website that tracks reported UFO sightings throughout the country, indicated a recent sighting in Winder

The following information was submitted on April 17, 2012.

15 miles west of Athens GA, walking our dog around 9-9:15 pm, we noticed a bright orange ball that had a mild pulsing light similar to an airplane in the south sky traveling north towards us; I initially thought it was an airplane but as it got closer, there was no engine noise, nor did it have the blinking lights of an airplane, it was a barely notoceable pulsing light. It appeared to be ascending but it was not on a normal flight path in this area. We stood still watching it fly overhead, northbound, and within three seconds of passing over us, it completely dissapeard to the north,(Just above Highway 316 between Collins Hill and Carl Bethlehem Rd in Barrow County, GA.).

In comments, another site user indicated seeing something similar.

I I saw the same thing in Atlanta on the night of the 14th..I saw several orange balls flying by...they were low and passed in front of a condo tower...made no noise...I have video of it on my phone...kinda of shaky but you can still make it out

Are you a believer? Have you seen any unidentified flying objects in the Barrow County area? Tell us in comments.

Maybe someone sends sky lanterns up to mark the end of passover.

The only UFO I've ever seen was years ago on St. George Island, FL. It was about 11 PM, and I was out on the beach by myself. I saw what appeared to be a bright star, moving back and forth between 2 actual stars. One minute it moved slowly to the left, then it shot back to the right, changing directions instantly without apparently stopping. Then it moved slowly toward me, then away from me; left, right, fast slow. This continued for a few minutes, and then it started moving toward me again, then just shot off, over my head, disappearing instantly from view. I have no idea what it was, but no conventional aircraft could possibly move the way I saw that thing move.

I think it's interesting, Matt, that so many people have stories similar to yours. I saw something like that once when I was about 12, and my dad described something similar once too. It could be anything, from government aircraft to aliens. Hopefully one day more information will come out about this type of thing.

They're usually well-understood phenomena. But it's unrealistic to expect every person to know all the thousands of interesting things light and nature can do. And the memory is usually too faded by the time people start looking for information.

What Matt described was probably an optical illusion.
