A tree limb apparently hit the fence before crashing into a toddler at Barrow County daycare on Monday.

A Barrow County child was reportedly injured on Monday at Cribs to Crayons Daycare in Winder when a limb nearly 14 feet long and 8 inches around and weighing several hundred pounds fell and struck him in the head.

The Atlanta Journal and Constitution is reporting that 2-year-old Tripp Halstead was transported to Barrow Regional Medical Center before being flown to Children's Heathcare of Atlanta at Egleston. According to Channel 2 Action News, Halstead underwent brain surgery on Monday afternoon and according to a hospital spokeswoman was in critical condition Monday evening.
