Teens Invited to Celebrate Summer at the Library
Summer program participants can pick up a reading log and a schedule of events beginning today.
School is out for summer and the Winder Library has offerings for students of all ages, including local teens.
Beginning today, teens and parents can stop by the library to pick up a reading log and a schedule of events, all under the banner of "Own the Night".
The library's Teen Advisory Board will meet at 4 p.m. Monday, June 7, and new members are always welcome to discuss what teens would like to read, programs they want to see and movies. At 4 p.m. Monday, June 14, the Teen Book Club will discuss any book read with the word night in the title.
But first, all teens are invited to enjoy the movie “Captain America: The First Avenger” from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26.
Programs continue in June and July:
- 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 6 — Dream journal craft
- 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 12 — Dr. Tom's circus juggling class
- 4 p.m. Monday, June 18 — "Twilight" Night: All things Edward and Bella
This July, teens can listen to Tim Soneflet’s scary legends and tales, attend a CSI-themed night and a Wii game night.
