Statham Library Extends Hours

The library will now be open until 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Thanks to the city of Statham, the Statham Public Library will be open two additional hours each week.

Beginning July 10, the library will be open until 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, instead of closing at 5 p.m.

In the past four years, checkouts and patron visits have almost doubled at the Statham Library, and computer use has increased by more than 70 percent. According to Piedmont Regional Library Director Beth McIntyre, more than 19,000 items were checked out in Statham in the past 11 months.

“And that doesn’t even include the busiest month of June,” McIntyre said.

Summer is the busiest season at local libraries. Visit www.prlib.org for summer reading program activities, and remember you can check out ebooks on the website.
