September 11 Memorial Ceremony Planned for Winder
The one-hour event commemorating the 9/11 attacks will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the John O. Mobley Public Safety Building.
The City of Winder will host its “We Will Never Forget” 9/11 Memorial Service for 2012 in front of the John O. Mobley Public Safety Building, 96 North Broad Street, at 8:30 a.m.
This will be the 11th year the city has memorized the events that occurred on September 11, 2001, according to a city press release.
"On that day terror challenged our freedom," the release says, "(i)n 107 minutes, 405 public safety employees died in the line of duty. This annual memorial service is dedicated to their memory."
The “TimeLine” has been shortened, and the service will last for about an hour, according to the release.
