Follow the trail of white powder: Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputies, who were serving a warrant in Monroe, found their man by following a trail of white powder to the attic. The man’s girlfriend answered the door and told deputies the suspect wasn’t there, but her face told a different story. Deputies noticed a white, powdery substance all over her face, then a trail of more powder on the ladder leading up to the attic. That’s where the man was found. Deputies also found white powder in a plastic packet and an unmarked pill bottle, which were later identified as schedule II and schedule III narcotics.

Making Benjamins out of Abes: Two men allegedly used counterfeit money to buy nearly $1,000 worth of debit cards at the Hamilton Mill Walmart near Dacula. The fake bills, which were accepted by a cashier who held them up to the light, were found to be $5 bills that had been bleached and reprinted to look like $100 bills.

He had to go … really: A man who was "stumbling through the parking lot" at a Suwanee-area restaurant, told police he was waiting for his brother to give him a ride. He also had to go. But after police didn’t allow him to go back into the restaurant to use the restroom, he turned toward the restaurant, “took a few steps in that direction and urinated on the curb,” according to the incident report.

Must be some good stew: An Oconee County resident reported to the sheriff’s department the theft of two plastic containers of chicken mull — a variety of stew — from a freezer located in the carport. The resident reported the value to be $14.

Not so fast: An Athens-Clarke County police officer investigating suspicious activity in a parking deck approached two people, who turned and walked away before one of them threw something into a trash can. Not so fast. The cop detained the pair and recovered the object — a plastic bag containing cocaine.

More than a food fight … again: Two freshmen were taken away in handcuffs after a bloody lunchtime brawl recently at Tucker High School. Tough school. A similar incident at the school last September left a teacher with a broken leg.
