Paul Broun's Wife Says He's Running for Senate
Niki Broun told a crowd in Gwinnett County that her husband was announcing his run for the the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Saxby Chambliss in 2014, according to a report.
Niki Broun can't wait for her husband, 10th District U.S. Rep. Paul Broun, to throw his hat in the ring for the 2014 U.S. Senate race, according to a report in the ViralRead blog.
A post picked up by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says Niki Broun told the group Citizens Helping America Restore Government Ethics on Tuesday that her husband had her permission to run, and that he was announcing his candidacy.
Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss announced last week that he would not seek a third term, opening the way for a spirited primary among potential successors.
Rep. Broun himself still isn't quite ready to take the plunge. The Athens Banner-Herald reported Wednesday that Broun's office doesn't plan an announcement on his prospective candidacy until sometime in the next week.
Broun, who represents southern Clarke County, all of Oconee, Barrow and Walton, and part of Gwinnett, among other regions, is known nationally for his positions on science and the age of the earth. He ran unopposed for re-election in 2012, but a write-in campaign for evolutionary scientist Charles Darwin garnered thousands of votes.

What an embarrassment for the State of Georgia, if the wingnut get elected. He probably will, cause he knows how to pander to the other wingnuts, and gerrymander his districts for a absolute win. God save our country from politicians like Paul Broun!
