Have Traffic Conditions Improved along Ga. Highway 211 in Front of Holly Hill Mall?

The Georgia Department of Transportation has budgeted $1.7 million for the traffic improvement project along Ga. Highway 211 at Horton Street and McNeal Road — have you seen improvements?

It's been a month since the Georgia Department of Transportation made a new signal at the intersection of Ga. Highway 211 and McNeal Road operational, followed by a new signal at 211 and Horton Street. Barrow Patch wants to know if you have seen traffic improve in the area in front of Holly Hill Mall. Tell us in comments.

No. It was sad to see them take some of Hills Ace's land for very little if any improvement other than cosmetic. Without putting in a left turn lane, a left turn arrow signal, and improving the intersection just over the tracks @ Hwy 29 that backs up, there won't be any improvement. What's going to happen when the Aldi grocery store goes in across the tracks? This intersection is going to be even more of a nightmare then.

I agree there is a problem with the intersection over tracks but other than that its a lot better.

coming from braselton at 4.00 and trying to turn right over the tracks on horton st is a nightmare. the old lane is completely gone and 1 truck is taking the other one left. then the green color is too going fast after you are lucky and pass the tracks. and there is no green arrow if you want to turn left on may st. a lot of steps to go aldi. trucks (18 whellers ) shouldn't be allowed to turn right on horton ever. should be a bridge for train like in Athens North Avenue.and many others from west to east of winder.
