Five Things to Do this Weekend: Oct. 14-16

Don't miss the 20th annual Auburnfest this weekend, and while you're out head over to Mudpatch Creations to help fight hunger by painting a bowl.

 

1.  20th annual Auburnfest

  • When and where: Noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, in downtown Auburn
  • Why go: To take in the offerings of arts and craft exhibitors from all over the Southeast and to stroll through Auburn’s downtown while shopping for unique and handmade items and enjoying the many foods and activities the festival has to offer
  • Cost: Free to attend

2.  Empty Bowls at Mudpatch Creations

  • When and where: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Mudpatch Creations in Winder
  • Why go: To help fight hunger by creating a hand-painted bowl to donate to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia
  • Cost: A minimum donation of $5 per bowl

3.  Winder Barrow vs. Loganville

  • When and where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Winder-Barrow High School
  • Why go: It's Homecoming night at Winder-Barrow, so head out and support the Bulldoggs
  • Cost: Free to attend

4.  Auburn Public Library Blow Out Book Sale

  • When and where: 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, and Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Auburn Public Library
  • Why go: To support the library by purchasing books
  • Cost: Free to attend, while hardcover books are $1 and softcovers are $.50

5.  Saturday night dance at the American Legion

  • When and where: 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the American Legion
  • Why go: Stephen Van will be providing the music for a night of dancing
  • Cost: $5
