Five Things to Do this Weekend: Nov. 11-13

Support local nonprofit organizations by attending one or more of several events this weekend.

 

1.  Relay for Life Bingo

  • When and where: 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at the Braselton Community Center
  • Why go: To support the Braselton/Hoschton 2012 Relay For Life while enjoying 20 regular games of bingo and two jackpot games
  • Cost: $20

2.  Holiday Harvest Run/Walk 5K

3.  Christmas in the Country Arts & Crafts Festival

  • When and where: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Winder First United Methodist Church
  • Why go: To peruse the offerings of more than 100 arts and crafts vendors during this fifth annual event, a fundraiser for the church's youth group
  • Cost: Free to attend

4.  Barrow County Habitat for Humanity Spaghetti Dinner and Auction

  • When and where: Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m., and the auction is set to begin at 7, at the Winder Lions Club
  • Why go: To support Barrow Habitat's 14th housing project
  • Cost: Dinner tickets are $7 and include spaghetti, salad, bread, a drink and dessert

5.  Carl House Fall Bridal Event

  • When and where: 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Carl House
  • Why go: Prospective brides cam meet Carl House's select vendor partners and taste the venue's culinary offerings
  • Cost: Carl House brides and one guest will be admitted for free, while admission for additional guests is $15
