Law enforcement has secured arrest warrants for a total of 75 individuals, and the Barrow County Sheriff's Office is searching for the remaining offenders.

State and local law enforcement agents took to the streets of Barrow County on Sunday, Aug. 12, executing arrest warrants for suspected drug dealers, and 28 individuals were taken into custody in the large-scale operation.

Officials with the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office, the Auburn Police Department, the Winder Police Department, the Statham Police Department, State Probation and Parole, the District Attorney’s Office and Immigration and Customs Enforcement combed Barrow County in search of 75 wanted felons.

According to the sheriff's office, the large-scale arrest operation follows the culmination of a lengthy investigation by the Barrow County Crime Task Force, with narcotics officers from Barrow and Winder making numerous undercover purchases of drugs and controlled substances in recent months from dozens of offenders.

The sheriff’s office continues to search for the remaining offenders.
