Candidate Forums Set to Begin Monday, June 25
The public is invited to attend one or all three planned candidate forums hosted by the Barrow County Republican Party.
The Barrow County Republican Party will host three upcoming candidate forums, and the public is invited to attend.
The first will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, June 25, at the Winder Cultural Arts Center.
U.S. Rep. Paul Broun will be the first speaker. Broun is seeking re-election to the new 10th U.S. District, which beginning January 2013 will include all of Barrow County.
Also expected to attend are candidates for the Barrow County Board of Commissioners seats for districts 2 and 3, candidates for the Barrow County Board of Education at-large seat for District 8, candidates for Barrow County Chief Magistrate, State House District 114 and State Senate District 47.
A second forum is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, July 9, at Bramlett Elementary School in Auburn. Candidates for the Barrow County Board of Education at-large seat for District 8, candidates for Barrow County Chief Magistrate, State House District 114 and State Senate District 47 are expected to attend.
The third and final candidate forum is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Statham Elementary School. Candidates for the Barrow County Board of Commissioners seat for District 1, candidates for the Barrow County Board of Education at-large seat for District 8, candidates for Barrow County Chief Magistrate, State House District 114 and State Senate District 47 are all expected to attend.
