Bethlehem Christian Academy Student Wins T-Shirt Design Contest

Braselton resident Tanner Still submitted the original design for Beach Bash T-shirt and won.

In February 2012, Barrow Patch reported that the town of Braselton was seeking “fledgling fashion designers” to submit original works of art for consideration for T-shirts for this year’s Braselton Beach Bash event.

The results are in and Bethlehem Christian Academy seventh-grader Tanner Still has been declared the victor in the T-shirt design contest.

“The winning design was chosen by the volunteer group who coordinates the festivals and special events in the park,” Braselton Town Manager and Clerk Jennifer Dees said. “ There were 13 entries and this one was chosen based on best representation of the theme as well as ability to reproduce while being colorful and graphically appealing.”

The official announcement that Still, a 13-year-old Braselton resident, had submitted the winning entry was announced April 9 at the monthlt town council meeting.

A popular local event, the Beach Bash Festival will be hosted in historic downtown’s Braselton Park from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 19. True to its name, 18 tons of white sand will be spread in front of the entertainment stage to add to the “beachy” atmosphere. The all-day event will feature live music, arts, craft and food vendors. The best part is attendance at the Beach Bash Festival is free.

“The Beach Bash is a unique opportunity for families to come together and enjoy an event where the activities for the children are at no cost,” Dees said. “The bungee jump, blowup houses, face painting, petting zoo and balloon animals are all free.”

During Beach Bash, a car show will be hosted just up the road at Year One from 5 to 9 p.m. For additional information or vendor registration forms, visit www.braseltonfestivals.com or call 706.654-3915. If you do attend the Beach Bash, be on the lookout for Tanner Still’s winning T-shirt design, on sale throughout the event while supplies last!
