Barrow Habitat to Serve up Spaghetti for Fundraiser
The local nonprofit organization will host a spaghetti dinner and auction this Saturday, Nov. 12, to raise money for its current project.
Barrow County Habitat for Humanity has raised about half the amount of money needed to complete the 14th Habitat house currently under construction.
Volunteers and organizers with the local nonprofit hope that amount increases significantly following a fundraising event this Saturday, Nov. 12.
Barrow Habitat will host a spaghetti dinner and auction at the Winder Lions Club, located at 354 E. Broad St. in Winder.
Dinner will be served from 5 pm to 7 p.m., and the auction is set to begin at 7. All proceeds will go toward the construction costs of the current Barrow Habitat house being built at 921 Lochwolde Lane in Bethlehem. Tickets are $7 and include spaghetti, salad, bread, a drink and dessert, as well as entertainment.
"Hopefully we will raise a lot because we've only raised about (half) of what we need," Habitat board member Sally Brown said. "So, as usual, we are building on faith that the funds, supplies and volunteers will appear. We are a great example of God providing just what you need, just when you need it. As long as we keep working, it will keep working out for Habitat."
If you would like to donate an item or service for the auction or to buy tickets, call Sally Brown at 770-995-1690.
