Barrow County Restaurant Inspections for Oct. 16: Retirement Community Receives Score, Mold found at Business on Highway 211

The Northeast Health District reports the following health inspection scores for Barrow County. 

Jack's, 1929 Highway 211, Suite 105, Hoschton
Score: 90
Date of inspection: Oct. 9, 2012
Type of inspection: Routine
Critical violation:

  • Violation of: 6-1C. Proper cooling time and temperature (A pan of sweet potatoes was cooling in walk-in — cooked Oct. 8 — at 51 degrees. Corrected on site by person in charge discarding.)  

Non-critical violation:

  • Violation of: 15A. Food and nonfood-contact surfaces cleanable, properly designed, constructed, and used (A leak in small reach-in cooler under prep table.) 
  • Violation of: 15C. Nonfood-contact surfaces clean Water, Plumbing and Waste (Mold in walk-in cooler and under bar sink.)

 

Magnolia Estates, 624 Gainesville Highway, Winder 
Score: 97
Date of inspection: Oct. 10, 2012 
Type of inspection: Routine 
No critical violations
Non-critical violation:  

  • Violation of: 11C. Approved thawing methods used (Two containers of barbecue sitting in food prep sink to thaw. Thaw either under cool running water, in microwave, in cooler or as part of cooling process. Corrected on site by moving to walk-in cooler.)
