Auburn Woman Suspected of Public Intoxication Tells Deputy He's Making Her Late for 'Hot Date'

The deputy was responding to a Shady Trail residence in Auburn at about 9:30 p.m. May 23, 2012, in reference to a report of a suspicious person.

A woman suspected of public intoxication told a deputy with the Barrow County Sheriff's Office that he was making her late for a "hot date" with his questions.

The deputy was responding to a Shady Trail residence in Auburn at about 9:30 p.m. May 23, 2012, in reference to a report of a suspicious person when, upon entering the neighborhood, he observed a woman fitting the suspect's description.

"As I approached the female I noticed that she was flinging her arms and could not walk straight as she walked in the middle of the roadway," the deputy wrote in an incident report. "As I turned around on the female and got behind her so that I could exit my patrol car she turned around while flinging her arms and displayed her middle finger to me."

The deputy approached the woman and asked if she was OK, to which she reportedly slurred an unrecognizable response. The deputy then asked her for identification. While retrieving her ID, the woman reportedly informed the deputy he could not rush perfection, because she was a woman and therefore a perfectionist.

After asking the woman a couple questions — where had she come from and whether she had consumed any alcohol — the deputy asked if she had consumed any illegal narcotics, to which the woman reportedly said he was making her late for her “hot date”.

While the deputy was speaking with the suspect, a second deputy arrived and said he had met with the complainant. The resident told the second deputy that he awoke to find the suspect on his front porch yelling at his porch light to turn off. The resident said he asked the woman if she needed any help before she walked off speaking incoherently and he did not know the suspect or why she was on his property.

Before being placed under arrest, the suspect, 22-year-old Autumn Nikole Lutz of 112 Summerchase Drive, Auburn, reportedly began dancing in front of one of the deputy's patrol cars. Lutz was charged with public intoxication.

Lutz previously appeared in the Barrow Docket Book for Feb. 20-23 charged with two counts of simple assault (family violence). Click here to view the latest Barrow Docket Book.
