Trunk-Jumping Robbers Arrested — Midtown Patch
Atlanta police arrested two men early Tuesday morning who were allegedly connected with an earlier pedestrian robbery in Midtown.
A female victim reported to officers that a Ford Taurus with a paper tag pulled up to her and a man popped out the trunk with a small black pistol. She was robbed at gunpoint of her purse and two cell phones.
Nearby, APD officers made a traffic stop of a Ford Taurus with a paper tag on Juniper Street. The victim was then brought to the traffic stop where she positively identified the driver and the man with the pistol, which was recovered from the car. A total of 10 cell phones and three lap top computers were also found in the vehicle.
Battered Man Tells Bizarre Story of Prostitution, Drugs — Norcross Patch
A man told police of a bizarre incident involving prostitution, crack cocaine and brass knuckles.
The 48-year-old Alpharetta man admitted coming to a Norcross hotel to meet a prostitute. When he got to the room, he saw a man named “D” in the room and several bags of crack cocaine on the table in the room. The man later said he reported the drugs to an officer he found in the parking lot of the hotel.
When the man returned to the hotel, he ran into “D,” who allegedly hit him in the face with a pair of brass knuckles for informing the police about the crack cocaine.
The victim ran away from the scene and called police. Police noted in the report that he was constantly changing his story and gave conflicting statements about the incident. The report does not state what happened to the first officer the victim allegedly flagged down about the cocaine.
Man Robs Woman, Attempts to Negotiate Deal — Dunwoody Patch
A man was arrested Monday night for a brazen robbery at Perimeter Mall that he apparently didn't think all the way through.
The suspect allegedly snatched an iPad from a Roswell woman who gave chase. The woman caught up with the suspect in the parking lot when the suspect could not locate his getaway ride. The suspect offered to return the iPad if the woman didn’t call police. Police, however, showed up to arrest the man before a compromise could be reached.
