Purse-Toting Robbers Strike Pawn Shop — Marietta Patch
Two men, both carrying purses and one wearing a wig, robbed a Cobb Pawn Shop on Sept. 18.
One perpetrator was dressed as a woman with a yellow purse and wig. The other wore a dark Adidas windbreaker with three stripes running down each sleeve, was carrying a red purse and had a dark Braves hat with a tomahawk on the front, according to Marietta Police.
The perpetrators arrived and left in a grey or black Suzuki Grand Vitara, probably a 2009-2013 model, and fled south on Cobb Pkwy, according to Police.
Hertz Offering $25,000 Reward in Homicide Case — Duluth Patch
Hertz is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the murder of Monique Marlowe of Duluth, according to a media update issued by the Gwinnett Police Department.
Marlowe, 24, was an employee of Hertz and was cleaning a car in the back of the business when she was killed. She was approached by a young black male wearing a light blue shirt. For unknown reasons, the suspect shot her once and immediately left the area.

Georgia Tech Ranked As Country's Best Academic Deal — Midtown Patch
A recent study showed the Georgia Institute of Technology is offering the best academic deal in the United States.
Georgia Tech’s class of 2009 paid almost $88,000 for their four-year degrees, but the median income for those grads was $59,000, which is 67 percent of what they paid.
That put Tech tops in the country according to a study conducted by Smartmoney Magazine. Many Tech students concentrate on science-oriented disciplines such as engineering and software design and that field have remained strong for post-graduate job opportunities.
