Today is Halloween and soon kids will be ringing bells throughout the neighborhood asking for candy. But could one of those bells be to the home of a sex offender?

We checked with the Barrow County Sheriff's Office's website and we found 129 registered sex offenders with a local address.

While a number of them are listed as living at the Barrow County Detention Center, some live in the neighborhoods throughout the cities and towns that make up Barrow County. Here’s a breakdown of the numbers we found recently in or near our area:

Winder: 74
Hoschton: 2
Bethlehem: 19
Statham: 12
Braselton: 2
Auburn: 20
