Parkinson’s Disease Foundation Offers Online Seminar to Support Millions of Parkinson’s Care Partners on Tuesday, November 20
Practical Advice for Care Partners, Loved Ones and Health Professionals Who Care for People with Parkinson’s
WHAT: “Coping Skills for Parkinson’s Care Partners” is the second in a series of free, interactive online and phone seminars, or PD ExpertBriefings hosted by the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (PDF). In recognition of November as National Family Caregivers month, this PD ExpertBriefing will focus on ways care partners and family members can recognize and reduce stress. PD ExpertBriefings provide people with Parkinson's disease, families and health professionals with first-hand access to the leaders in Parkinson's disease care and research.
WHO: Julie H. Carter R.N., M.S., A.N.P., is a Professor of Neurology at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). The Parkinson’s Disease Foundation ® (PDF®) supports scientific research and ideas that will improve the lives and futures of people who are touched by Parkinson’s disease. Since its founding in 1957, PDF has invested more than $136 million in research, education and advocacy programs. Additional promotion is provided through PDF's media partner, National Family Caregivers Association.
WHY: PDF estimates that there are as many as one million Americans living with Parkinson's disease. We also recognize the millions of families and care partners who make a difference in the lives of their loved ones, whether by coordinating doctor visits, managing financial matters, helping with personal needs, or getting involved in the fight against the disease. Each November, PDF dedicates a PD ExpertBriefing to the needs of care partners and families.
WHEN: Tuesday, November 20, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM ET.
WHERE: Participants can take part in the session via phone, using a toll-free number and/or can also watch and listen online, through PDF’s website.
