Applications are now being accepted for the Citizen's Police Academy offered by the Winder Police Department. Space is limited so reservations are encouraged.

Classes will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8 and will for 12 weeks on Thursday evenings. Attendees will practice hands-on instruction, including traffic stops, building clearing, firearms training, search and seizure, crime scene processing, community policing and more.

Interested individuals may visit the city of Winder website for an application or applications may be picked up at the police department.

Applicants will undergo a criminal history and background check.
