Barrow County School System Family Academy Presents “Raising a Reader”

All parents want their children to be successful students. Raising a reader is one way to help them get there. However, as parents we don’t always know how to help them, especially if they are not very interested. Some children simply don’t know what they like to read. Join the discussion to share strategies to help motivate your child to read outside of school, find the areas of interest that will result in a lifetime of reading enjoyment, and discuss appropriate books or book series for both elementary and middle school age children.

Registration is not required, and the program is free of charge. Parents are invited join us at the Professional Development Center, 179 West Athens Street, Winder, Thursday, January 24, 2013, at 10:00 in the morning or Thursday, January 24, 2013, at 6:00 in the evening. For more information, call Sherri Perry, Title I Family Engagement Specialist at 678-425-2812 or email her at sherri.perry@barrow.k12.ga.us.
